Main Street Fort Dodge was awarded a $2,000 Main Street America U.S. Bank Grant to identify area entrepreneurs and develop support services for their growth.  As a member of the Fort Dodge Small Business Task Force Main Street is partnering with local agencies to present this opportunity to anyone thinking of opening a businesses, students with home-based businesses, adult home-based businesses, budding entrepreneurs, newly opened businesses, and established businesses entertaining expansion ideas.  “Let’s IGNITE an entrepreneur mindset in Fort Dodge,” stated Kris Patrick, Executive Director. “Many people operating a business and playing with an idea don’t view themselves as an entrepreneur.  This series is for them and any person operating a business.”  Any type of business will benefit from learning of area resources and listening to speakers who started small, had bumps in their plan, recovered and have successful endeavors.  “Farmers, photographers, retailers, services businesses, makers, and other business concepts are welcome.  Our goal is for the initiative will create the base network to encourage, educate, and prepare businesses for real-life commerce both online and in person.”
