Main Street Fort Dodge is hosting its second Build a Better Block event on Wednesday, October 24th at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at 1018 Central Avenue. At the event attendees will help transform the vacant Dodge Theatre into a pop-up museum celebrating Fort Dodge’s history in the film and production industry. Participants will help build the museum, and following will enjoy movie refreshments, live music by Dave Hearn, live portrayers, kids activities, and historic displays of Fort Dodge’s theatres, and significant film contributors such as Lili Damita, Sam Arkoff, Gene Ross, and others!
Build a Better Block focuses on revitalizing neighborhoods incrementally through small, but impactful projects that enhance safety, access, stay power, and amenities. The Main Street Fort Dodge Pop-Up Museum strives to envision what could be in the Historic Dodge Theatre and celebrate our community’s past.
Participate in the event or visit the Museum over the weekend – days/times to be announced. Contact Kris Patrick, Main Street Fort Dodge Executive Director for more information kris@mainstreetfd.org or (515) 573-3172.
