The annual Lunch on Central returned on June 26 for the 2026 season with more than 100 attendees. Hosted by Main Street Fort Dodge, board members, local volunteers, and business sponsors team up to serve a delicious and affordable meal in the heart of downtown. The event is held in the parking lot in the 700 block of Central Avenue between The Messenger and the Webster County Courthouse. Meals are just $8.00, with outdoor seating or takeout available. Desserts from a local non-profit organization are available for purchase.
The sponsors of the June lunch were MidAmerican Energy, Webster County Pork Producers, The Dariette, and Daniel Pharmacy.
Held on the last Friday of the month, the other 2026 Lunch on Central dates are July 31 and August 28.
The July lunch will feature a drawing for Downtown Country Jam tickets, with CJ Bio America as the lead sponsor. In August, local Edward Jones advisors and Wholestone Prestage are the lead sponsors.
Now a summertime tradition, the goal of Lunch on Central is to promote the Main Street district as a welcoming and friendly place to gather and eat. Proceeds from the lunch will support MSFD’s activities.
